Description & Services
Description of service(s) FAST is a nonprofit organization, guided by an elected Board of Directors accountable to the general membership for the execution of a four-year strategic plan. The membership is comprised of registered swimmers and their parents. The head coach is supported by a team of coaches in delivering a quality competitive swim program as approved annually by the Board of Directors. FAST is a member of Swimming New Brunswick, which promotes competitive swimming on behalf its 14 member swim clubs. FAST is recognized as one of the leading competitive swim teams in Atlantic Canada with an aspiration to achieve Club Excellence status, a nationally recognized accreditation for sports clubs.
The Fredericton Aquanauts Swim Team has a rich tradition of success in developing competitive swimmers but also instilling the qualities that will help our youth become successful and responsible adults. Swimmers have an opportunity to compete at the regional, provincial, national, and international level. The club has strong alumni, including Olympic silver medalist Marianne Limpert who maintain strong links with
the club. In fact, several alumni swimmers have returned to FAST as coaches. Former swimmers are members of university varsity swim teams throughout Canada, sometimes returning to train with the FAST club during summer months.
