Description of service(s) Saint John’s Fire Service has been operating since 1786. To this day, the citizens of Saint John have been extremely supportive of their Fire Service; they recognize the risks that are inherent in the oldest incorporated city that is the most industrialized in eastern Canada, and has a vast land mass of 126 square miles. 
Fire and Rescue Services focus on reducing the loss of life, personal injury, property damage or impact on the environment caused by fire, accident, medical emergency, or hazardous materials release. Service includes:
