Description & Services
Description of service(s) This Act was proclaimed and came into force October 1, 2004. The province is smoke-free in public places and workplaces. 
 
Smoking is no longer be permitted on school grounds, in retail stores, community halls, conference centres, sports arenas, educational buildings, bingos, bars, restaurants and all indoor workplaces. 
 
Managers and/or employers are responsible for ensuring that no person smokes in that place or area. Public Health Inspectors, Occupational Health and Safety Officers and Liquor Control Inspectors will monitor compliance and enforce the legislation.
